VAT

VAT is one of the most trying taxes for the ordinary businessman to manage.

We can remove the worry and stress by helping you to either manage the process inside our business or by taking over the entire process and preparing and submitting the Returns on your behalf.  We can even get you an extra 10 days credit with the VATman by submitting Returns on line.

If you have imports or exports, we can deal with Intrastat returns on your behalf, ensuring that you comply with all your obligations.

We can advise on the flat rate schemes and on annual accounting schemes that can give you a better cash flow, or even reduce your VAT liability.

The pre-Budget report has temporarily reduced the main VAT Rate from 17.5% to 15% between 1/12/08 and 31/12/09. We have produced a factsheet to help our clients adjust their computer systems to treat VAT correctly.

fuel duty & BSOG claims

Fishermen and bus operators need to reclaim the fuel duty that they have suffered, or to claim duty rebates that they are entitled to.

We prepare these claims on a regular basis, and can help you maximise your refund and minimise the hassle by ensuring that claims are made in the correct format.

The table below shows the differing duty rates for the two main types of fuel.

Fuel type From 1/1/05 From 6/12/05 From 1/9/06 From 1/10/07 From 1/12/08 From 1/4/09
Gas Oil (red diesel) 5.22 6.44 7.69 9.69 10.07 10.42
Unleaded petrol and diesel 47.10 47.10 48.35 50.35 52.35 54.19
