International Tax Accountant

We are looking for an individual with the necessary financial skills to join our growing team, focussing on foreign tax return preparation, foreign bookkeeping and foreign payroll provision. All team members are asked to be flexible during busy periods and may be asked to work on other areas not directly associated with their own area of responsibility.

This position is permanent, part-time; and the working hours are 9:15am - 5pm, Monday and Tuesday and 9:15am - 4pm Friday.

Prerequisites for this post include:

  • Excellent numeracy and literacy
  • An excellent knowledge of excel spreadsheets
  • Thorough understanding of debits and credits and excellent bookkeeping skills
  • A thorough understanding of Balance Sheet / Profit and Loss
  • Ability and confidence to deal with remote clients via telephone and e-mail, relaying complex information
  • Ability and confidence to deal with UK and foreign tax offices via telephone and e-mail
  • Self starter, able to work as part of a team but also without supervision

Advantageous additional abilities would include:

  • Knowledge of Norwegian either spoken or written
  • Computerised accounting software experience
  • Experience in the operation of foreign currency transactions, including multiple currency computation e.g. Kr to € via £
  • Formal Accountancy qualification or extensive practice experience

Full training will be given, and applicants will be expected to know their limits, initially, but be prepared to develop their skills quickly.

Salary dependent upon experience.

This is a highly responsible position, and applicants will be expected to take full ownership of their portfolio of clients.
